Press Release is NOT dead

The press release is not dead. The internet has given us a direct communications channel to consumers, allowing us to by pass the gates of Big Media. A newsworthy online press release is one of the tools for reaching your target audience.

Search engines and News Search Engines have caused a shift on how we write and distribute a news release, giving birth to Press Release Optimization. Effective press release writing today starts with understanding that your primary audiences are now search engines and consumers (consumers of information).

To help you adapt to this change, we are writing an ongoing series of articles on press release optimization:

Everything old is new again.

A working group has formed to “define a new format for press releases”, hrelease (social media release). We just integrated some social media elements to our online press release template. Readers can now easily share your news story using services like delicious and digg.com.

We are not done yet. We are working long hours to speed up the deployment of our new upgrade package: social news release, which will offer more social media elements and better distribution.
